Letter Writing

Your letters are the ambassadors of your organisation. Many people will never meet you, but they will form an impression based on your correspondence. Commercial pressures and written communication continually increase. You must compete for the reader’s attention. The skill of the writer must meet these challenges.

A short letter may be the result of great effort. If it is not read, the effort has been wasted. The quality of the letter therefore determines the value of the previous effort.

Few have had formal training in writing letters and have had to learn by trial and error. Unfortunately, some may have learned the wrong lessons.

Increasing your letter writing ability will help you to achieve your objectives at work. It will increase your credibility and enable you to communicate more effectively outside the organisation.
