Some popular phrases for playing lingo bingo in the next boring meeting, or for introducing into the meeting without being spotted.

Low Scoring – should hear/use often

Touch base
Brain dump
Negative impact/Positive impact (bonus for both in one sentence)
Deliver the numbers
Take ownership
We need a vision
What are our values?
Quick win
Mission/vision/values all in same sentence
Sorry the slide’s a bit busy/difficult to read/difficult to see at the back
Can we park that for later?
Push back
Solutions ... as in “we sell solutions”, “business solutions”
Strategy (only counts when the term is misused, which seems to be often)

Mission critical
Big hitter... as in “we need to recruit a...”
High level
Blue sky thinking
Win/win

High Scoring – Rare, ones to watch out for, or use only once

No need to … boil the ocean
Time to … open our kimonos
Downside risk
Upside benefit
Customer centric (anything with centric is quite fashionable at present)
Guru placement, as in….. according to - Stephen Covey, Tom Peters, Michael Porter, Gary Hamel et al
Misquoted or taken out of context statements by your CEO
Applying the particular to the general, as in … "I was talking to a customer the other day and they said if we"

Push the envelope
Somebody moved my cheese
800lb gorilla ... as in a dominant competitor
The elephant in the room ... as in the great unmentionable
